It was a busy Friday for expectant mom Kourtney Kardashian!
The reality star had the camera crew in tow as first took care of some business yesterday, meeting her sister Khloe Kardashian at the new Melrose Avenue location of their clothing store DASH, which is still under construction. From there Kourtney did a bit of shopping – including picking up a few items at Bel Bambini baby boutique – before stopping off at the salon.

16Happy Mother’s Day From Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift
Posted By: Admin on May 16, 2012 at 7:21 am Above the Buzz rounds up the best pop songs praising mom.
By Jocelyn Vena

Mother's Day is just around the bend — Sunday, to be exact. If you're reading this and that's news to you, you might want to order your mama some flowers and read on for some awesome mixtape song selections courtesy of Above the Buzz.

Pop music has had a longstanding tradition of cranking out tunes that pay homage to the most important woman in everyone's life: mommy dearest. How could you not look to mom for musical inspiration? She loves you unconditionally, pushes you to be your best, is an awesome shopping buddy and, at one point, let you make that terrible decision of rocking blond highlights back in high school when you really had no business being blonde.

Basically, she's your friend until the end. So, hit record on your boom box and collect these tunes to let mom know how much you love and appreciate her. (And, yes, I am writing this column from a random Mother's Day in the '90s when people still recorded mixtapes off boom boxes.)

In 1999, the Backstreet Boys released a sappy ballad titled "The Perfect Fan." With touches of gospel on the track, the sentiment thanking their moms for always being supportive reaches it crescendo when the fivesome declare, "I wanna thank you for what you've done/ In hopes I can give back to you/ And be the perfect son." Writing a song about your mom, boys, is certainly a good start.

Years before BSB dropped their mommy ode, Boyz II Men released "A Song for Mama" in 1997. In the deeply emotional ballad produced and written by Babyface, the guys praise their mamas for showing them the right thing to do. "You're always there for me/ Have always been around for me, even when I was bad/ You showed me right from my wrong/ Yes, you did," they sing. And, we swooned.

That same year, the Spice Girls released "Mama." Lyrically, it is a bit different from the tracks the boys released. The song is about the girls' growing relationships with their moms, who went from their biggest enemy when they were teens to being their best friends as adults. The ladies sing, "Back then, I didn't know why/ Why you were misunderstood/ So now I see through your eyes/ All that you did was love."

An equally touching ode from Christina Aguilera, "Oh Mother," delves into a more serious topics than those other tracks. Released in 2006, the song reflects on her mother's abusive relationship with her father. The song is incredibly personal, relaying some details about watching her mother get abused. But, in the end, she wants her mom to know this: "So mother, I thank you/ For all that you've done and still do/ You got me, I got you/ Together, we always pull through."

On the other side of the emotional mom rollercoaster is Taylor Swift's "The Best Day," which she dropped in 2008. The track is a mid-tempo jam about all the awesome things her mom does to make her feel better when she's low and all the things her mom taught her. "I know you were on my side even when I was wrong/ And I love you for giving me your eyes/ For staying back and watching me shine/ And I didn't know if you knew, so I'm takin' this chance to say/ That I had the best day with you today," she sings. You said it for all of us, girl!

With a new Mother's Day upon us, Justin Bieber is getting in on the action with his new track "Turn to You." Given the tradition he's following in, it's a nice sentiment from a boy who truly loves his mom. And, there's nothing more adorable than a pop star who knows where it's at.

Because we know where it's at, we have this final message: Happy Mother's Day, mom! All these songs say it all and so much more. You rock! Now, go tell your mom how you feel about her — she deserves it.

What's your favorite track showing love for mom? Share your pick below!

14Drake Drops ‘Monster Verse’ On DJ Drama’s ‘We In This Bitch 1.5′

DJ Drama recruited Atlanta’s finest for his single “We In This Bitch,” even gathering Young Jeezy, T.I., Ludacris and Future for the song’s video, which premiered earlier this week, but Drama still found one more way to guarantee the track’s sticking power. On Friday (May 11) he released the remixed version, “We in This Bitch 1.5″ featuring Drake.
During Meek Mill’s 25th birthday celebration in Philadelphia on Sunday, MTV News caught up with Drama, who teased the remix, and gave a few details on how the collaboration came about. “When you have a record, being a DJ we always like to do creative things, so I got a version 1.5, which is DJ Drama featuring Drake and Future,” he told Sway Calloway, going on to explain why he thought the YMCMB rapper was the best fit to remake the single.
“When you have a record like that and [you want] to add onto it, there’s not a lot of things you could do,” he said. “[Drake] came with a monster verse, [and he's] another young, fresh talent, somebody out here that I look at the same way I look at Meek, who’s really keeping hip-hop culture moving forward, so I felt it was only best.”
Topping the original track was definitely no easy feat. Drama explained that he was very conscious of gathering Atlanta’s legends and one promising newcomer for the original. “It’s the first time that Tip, Jeezy and Luda have all been on one record together,” he said. “Plus, having Future on there, who’s got the streets on fire — 2 Chainz and Future are really holding the A down and really are a new generation. Of course, we all know Tip has been here for a long time doing his thing, and even the significance of what Jeezy, T.I. and Luda mean to the city and to my career, it’s a special moment for them, it’s a special record.”
“We In This Bitch 1.5″ finds Future on the first track with Drake since the YMCMB rapper appeared on Future’s hit single “Tony Montana.” There was some brief friction between the two, when Future took a jab at Drake for skipping out on filming the video with him.

08Usher To Preview Looking For Myself At Off-Broadway Show
Posted By: Admin on May 8, 2012 at 5:21 pm Singer tells MTV News ‘Fuerza Bruta’ matches the ‘more artistic’ music on his upcoming album.
By Jocelyn Vena

This Saturday (and this Saturday only), Usher will appear in New York City's "Fuerza Bruta," an off-Broadway show where no one speaks, but the story is told through bright lights, music and dancing. In the lead role of Running Man, Usher will also use the show to preview his June album release, Looking for Myself.

Fans in the audience will likely get closer than they've ever been to the singer, as the audience stands during the performance, becoming another member of the company. With several weeks until his album release, Usher explained to MTV News at a rehearsal why he wanted to use this show to preview tracks.

"I felt like the natural elements as well as the emotion of 'Fuerza Bruta' would definitely speak or be significant to some of the stories and I guess hopefully a connection [was there]," he explained of tying this performance to his album. "When we began to explore different directions [for the performance like] maybe we use some of their music, maybe we use some of mine … and before you knew it the idea came together. We tried it, I got on Running Man and it worked."

The show will stream his entire album, which drops June 12, and he thinks the mind-bending artistry of "Fuerza Bruta" works with the sound he's created on it. "This is more artistic of an album than I've had in history," he said. "And I felt like yeah, it would be a lot for me, but I was willing to at least try it. There were many times I had seen the show and I only hoped that I would be able to make it happen."

08Justin Bieber’s ‘Boyfriend’ Video: Frame By Frame
Posted By: Admin on May 8, 2012 at 11:24 am Director X sits down with MTV News and breaks down the sexy new clip, including the deets on ‘Chunky Bieber.’
By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Vanessa White Wolf

Justin Bieber drives fast cars, nuzzles with one very lovely young woman and gets his dance on in his record-setting "Boyfriend" video. Fairly simple in its concept, the video is a snapshot of what it would be like to party with the teen star and his hip friends on a rooftop in Los Angeles.

MTV News recently sat down with Director X, and he broke down what it was like to hit the set with the 18-year-old as he readies the next phase of his career, the more mature Believe era. The video is the lead visual off Bieber's June 19 album, and X took us through the clip, frame by frame.

"We start this off with the car stunts," he said of the opening shot. "We wrecked that car by the way; both of those Mustangs were pretty shot after this video, completely shot after this video."

From there, fans are invited to Bieber's car-themed rooftop bash, one that recalls the type of shindig another teen idol from back in the day may have thrown.

"So we got this rooftop here in L.A., starting our day with Justin and he's pulling up. We got all the cool kids hanging out," X said. "Justin's new look, he's kind of got a James Dean thing going on here. That's really Justin driving that Mustang … and he did all the stunts by himself, completely. That's all him," X joked. "Actually, that's us holding the car. We put the car on these wheels and we pushed it around in circles while Justin pretended to drive."

Justin's "smooth" driving moves are matched only by the real ones he uses on his female co-star, Rachel Barnes. "We got Justin with the girl, pulling [her] around [with the] kids dancing, 'cause you know how kids do. That's what goes on [at these get-togethers]: Someone brings out their guitar and the party happens," he explained.

"The idea really was to show a lifestyle piece — Justin hanging out — to show that he's older … just to see this new vibe," the director added. "We get to see that he's growing into his manhood. [We] just [wanted] to get in an environment where we can show that naturally, just have fun and get the vibe of who he is."

While Bieber and his lady love in the video captured fans' attention, a co-star who was dubbed "Chunky Bieber" on-set has also gotten some buzz. X explained, "[Chunky Bieber] came with one of the cars and somehow [Bieber's manager], Scooter [Braun], I don't know how in the world they got into conversation where Chunky Bieber started dancing somehow." Apparently it all went down when the director wasn't looking. "They taped 'Chunky Bieber' to his shirt and Chunky Bieber got in the video."

As the video closes out, Justin's dancing skills are on full display. "Got some footage of Justin dancing, [and] those are really his feet," Director X said. "He can do that, and that's it: Justin Bieber, bad boy."

What do you think of Justin's "Boyfriend" video?
